What happens to your vote

The results of the survey will be compiled for review by the project steering committee Based on the steering committee’s recommendations, the new list will be made public in 2012.

Some of the buildings from this new list may be incorporated into an architectural tourism circuit to be launched by the National Museums of Kenya.

It is intended that all of the buildings from this new list will be celebrated through a high profile photographic exhibition. The development and launch of this exhibition will be run as a stand-alone project in 2012.

What we all – together – hope to achieve

This project will help to raise the profile of buildings that are valued by Nairobi’s residents and considered to be defining of Nairobi as a city. Increased profile will lead to increased appreciation of these buildings’ merits, and contribute towards their preservation into the future.

So while Nairobi grows and transforms – as it must – we will still keep the buildings that we as Nairobians value, and that contribute towards the aesthetic beauty and liveability of our city.

This is no small thing.
